Billie Takaki Lueder

Strategic Educational Consultant

Billie Takaki Lueder has over 10 years of experience in project and organizational management. Ms. Lueder is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Masters in Public Administration and a B.A. in English.

Her diverse professional career began as a corporate trainer at Bank of Hawaii responsible for the delivery of professional development curriculum to employees. She later was named as the Managing Editor of Hawaii Woman magazine a publication dedicated to professional women in the islands. Billie then entered into the field of public education as a career counselor which eventually led her to co-chair the implementation of 2.5 million dollar grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education for eight DOE high schools to create Smaller Learning Communities. Once the grant was completed, she moved on to become the Educational Outreach Manager for the Hawaiian Humane Society.

She continues to work with such clients as, Bank of Hawaii and Kamehameha Schools, facilitating Professional Image and customer service sessions for staff and students and was a consultant for Kamehameha Schools Extension Services Division in developing a mentoring program design for the Kamehameha Scholars (K Scholars) program.

Her strengths focus on developing and implementing corporate communications plans; designing public opinion campaigns; tackling issues management and crisis communications; and creating integrated marketing initiatives, all with an emphasis on strategy for her clients.

Most recently, Ms. Lueder has serviced a large variety of local, national and international clients as an independent consultant including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, St. Andrew's Priory School, Good Beginnings Alliance, Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture, Hawaii's P-3 Initiative, Honolulu Community College, TH!NK LLC, Dow AgroSciences and Farrington High School. It is at both Honolulu CC, and Farrington were the early groundwork is being laid to develop a comprehensive alumni relations/communications strategy to engage graduates and community with the school.

A former Miss Hawaii, Billie is an active community volunteer. She currently serves as a board member for Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, is a member of the Miss Hawaii Scholarship Organization State Committee, and previously served as a board member of the Angela Perez Baraquio Educational Foundation.
