Lisa Halvorson has been recognized as a quick study with the ability to take complex or complicated information and to communicate it in a clear, engaging way. Lisa has received awards from the Public Relations Society of America – Hawaii Chapter, and the Bank Marketing Association for her work.
Prior to founding Halvorson PR, Lisa served as vice president at AIG Hawaii and managed public relations, community positioning, customer and employee communications. She also headed public relations for First Hawaiian Bank for 10 years, where she served as primary spokesperson, speechwriter and liaison with local and national media.
Lisa has agency management experience as vice president with Communications-Pacific where she worked on corporate accounts including Bank of Hawaii and Hawaiian Tel. She also managed the Beatrice Companies consumer account at Burson-Marsteller Public Relations in Chicago and was a senior writer at Continental Bank.
Lisa serves on the board of directors of KCAA Preschools of Hawaii, Sun Yat-sen Hawaii Foundation, Youth for Christ Hawaii and Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise. She is a past president of Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners. A Hawaii native, Lisa holds bachelor and master's degrees from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.
