Fresh Leadership - A Strategic Consultancy

Strategic Operations Planning

The Tom Paterson process:

A fresh way of leading and managing the whole organization... rather than a bucket of parts.

Effective strategic planning is a facilitation process which draws from an organization truth, vision, core issues, action plans, and breakthrough ideas that take companies to new levels of profitability. The Paterson Process is a unique methodology for developing strategic operating plans. We facilitate a Strategic Operating Plan with clients over a 2–3 day period and provide ongoing coaching support for the organizational leaders to implement the great ideas into breakthrough behavior.

Every management module of our strategic plans are an application of business system management principles. This all leads to a Breakthrough Formula—the power to create innovation and breakthrough. Through system teamwork, a new potential is released with astonishing results. When completed, The Paterson Process includes a Play-book and the Plan on a Page allowing team members to review and monitor key elements of the plan summarized on one page presenting:

  • Mission & Key Assumptions (Strategic, Operational, Financial)
  • Vision
  • Core Strategies
  • Strategic & Action Initiatives
  • Strategic Control Panel

The end result is a powerful, state-of-the-art Strategic Operating Plan straight forward, with room for expansion, that has helped companies and institutions in the U.S. and abroad achieve a pattern of profitable, consistent growth.

What Others Say About Our Strategic Operations Planning:

Craig was able to lead Farrington through a comprehensive strategic planning process that resulted in a five-year plan to restructure our school. His background, in business and nonprofit organizations enabled him to view us with a fresh perspective. He encouraged us to look at Farrington through a different lens and we experienced a process that successfully blended education and business models. We have created and begun to implement a plan that is building an exciting new future for the students of Farrington. We appreciate Craig's continuing support as we move forward.

Catherine Payne
Principal, Farrington High School

Craig came to my attention from his work with a friend of mine that seem to have a situation that parallel something I wanted to address. These initial encounters helped to stimulate a discussion of deeper issues within the various companies. Our work is the development, sales, and construction of real estate. The growth of these interests, though tightly related evolved in a way that did not take advantage of our potential. Craig described us as silos gleaming in the sun. Each area very successful, have been, our successes, our challenges and where are our opportunities. This is an ongoing and continual process in which we are renewing and focusing the energy of our teams. I highly recommend Craig to organizations that are interested in learning how to take advantage of their potential.
